Why I Built DO Estimating?
When I started my career in construction more than two decades ago, I quickly learned one hard truth: the contractors who won the most work were not always the most skilled, they were the ones who showed up with the sharpest numbers. I spent years watching talented subcontractors lose bids they deserved to win not because their work was inferior, but because their estimates were rushed, incomplete, or simply wrong.
And I watched general contractors spread themselves too thin, estimating late at night and days, just trying to keep their pipeline full. That’s why I founded DO Estimating. The name carries a double meaning: it’s built from my initials and it reflects what we do: we do the estimating, so you don’t have to.
Our mission:
Has always been simple: provide contractors of all sizes with the same caliber of professional estimating support that large firms have on staff, without the overhead, without the complexity and without the long term commitment.
